Punjab Flood : The situation in Ajnala and chak Aul of Amritsar is bad. These two villages are less than 10 km away from the India- Pakistan border . These villages are completely cut off. The streets have turned into rivers and water has entered the houses. People are camping on their roofs.
Amritsar Flood : The situation is a continuously worsening due to floods in Lalsot wala and chuk Aul villages of Ajnala area of Amritsar district of Punjab. Many houses here are completely submerged in water and people have been taking shelter on their roofs for the last 3 days. Both villages are located near the India-Pakistan border. They are just 10 kilometres away and are completely cut off due to waterlogging all around. Roots in The villages have turned into rivers many families are staying on the roofs to protect their belongings , as the fear that if they leave their homes, they may be robbed.

According to the Indian express report, Ranjit Kumar of Lal Singh Wala village said that her house is flooded with water, but she and her husband are not ready to leave the house. How to children has been sent to a safe place with relatives. Ranjit Kaur says that her family is depended on only one buffalo for their livelihood. How can I leave it and go ? Meanwhile, Chak Aul's sarpanch Joginder Singh said that water games so fast that people could not take out their cattle and belongings. The lower portion of their house is completely submerged and the tube wells are also flooded, leading the acute shortage of drinking water.
Three lakh Acres of Land Affected
Lat us tell you that floods have caused heavy destruction in 8 districts of Punjab, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and Fazilka. So for 24 people have died, mostly due to house collapse. According to officials, the main reason for the flood is continuous rain in the catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and the water leaves from bhakra and Ranjit Sagar dams . Due to this, Satluj, Beas and Ravi rivers are i spate . Revenue, rehabilitation and disaster management ministry Hardeep Singh Mundian said that so far 14,936 people have been evaluated to safer places. Additional chief secretary (Revenue) Anurag Verma said about 300000 acres of land has been affected, badly affecting about 1.25 lakh people.
People of the Affected Villages Are Complaining
However, people of the affected villages are complaining that administrative relief has not yet reached them. Lal Singh Wala's sarpanch Avatar Singh said that the first person to come to the village for help was Guru Nanak Dev. She met sikh preachers of Guru ka Bagh who provided fooder and ration. Meanwhile, a video of chief minister Bhagwant man dropping relief material from a helicopter has gone viral, this angered the people. A temporary hut was almost blown away by the strong wind of the helicopter, while most of the Russian fell into the water and got washed away.
Not Ready To Leave House and Cattle
Taking advantage of this crisis, a black market has also started in the area. Polythene sheets are being sold for Rs 170-200 per kg instead of Rs 130 and bottled water is also being sold at double the price. Sarwan Singh Pandher , President of the Kisan Majdur Sangharsh Committee , has condemned this situation. However, social organisations and NGOs aur coming forward and providing food , water and fooder for cattle to the people. Due to which the victim are getting some relief. The administration is constantly appealing to the people to move the safer places, but most of the villagers are not ready to leave their houses and cattle .
